Option 1: As you have read in your textbook, infertility is on the rise for a number of reasons. Please share your own personal experiences with the process of “getting pregnant” (you are not required to share any information that makes you uncomfortable, only what you are willing to disclose).

If you have not had any personal experiences with the process of conception, then ask your mothers, sisters, or any of your friends who have.

Option 2: Females: Describe your own experiences with the birth process, if applicable. If you haven’t had any personal experience(s) with the birth process, ask your mothers, sisters, or friends what their experiences were like and share those. Males: Describe your own experiences as fathers, if applicable. What was the birth process like for you? If you have no experience, you may ask your family members to describe theirs, or you may discuss what you think will be your role-based upon what you have learned in this course. Reflection: Pregnancy

Female genders in the community are faced with several vital processes in life, including the menstrual cycle and pregnancy. With every appearing antagonistically to each other, they serve an important process in their life. To be specific, females are faced with more infertility cases than males in the community. Researches are ongoing to establish this trend. Pregnancy is a long process that involves various life stages, resulting in a complete human being and serves the purpose of life continuation.

I am not a parent yet, but I have a friend, now a mother of two, who passed through the entire pregnancy process and really, one has to undergo various events to the end. They have to undergo prolonged headaches, nausea accompanied by morning sickness, and fatigue during the advanced stages like the third trimester. Moreover, there are episodes of heightened sensitivity to heat and smell, large tender breasts and fluid retention occasionally. Moreover, there doubled changes and discomforts in the case of a twin pregnancy. Others will experience aches and pain on their lower abdomen. With a rise in infertility, thanks to the development and advancement of Assisted Reproductive Technology, which now allows infertile women to get pregnant although its efficacy is not yet achieved. This has helped many women get pregnant even in their later stages of life and thus help boost their self-esteem of not having a child for the better part of their life. Therefore, society has to ensure effective standards are met to secure women during this painful trying moment, although it is rewarded whey they eventually deliver successfully.
