Qualitative data has been described as voluminous and sometimes overwhelming to the researcher. Discuss two strategies that would help a researcher manage and organize the data.
The three types of qualitative research are phenomenological, grounded theory, and ethnographic research. Compare the differences and similarities between two of the three types of qualitative studies and give an example of each.

ANSWER
Types of Qualitative Research
Qualitative research is considered as the collection and analysis of non-numerical data such as text, video and audio to realize opinions, ideas, and understandings. Qualitative research can be utilized to collect in-depth insights about an issue as well as generate new ideas for a study (Kompa, 2013). Qualitative research is utilized to understand how individuals experience the world and tend to focus and be flexible in obtaining rich meaning while examining and interpreting data. Some of the common approaches for qualitative research include grounded theory, action research, ethnography, narrative research, and phenomenological research. This paper will focus on phenomenological and grounded research which have similarities and differences that demand a good consideration on how they influence research.
Grounded theory entails the collection of rich data on a topic of interest as well as establishing theories inductively. On the other hand, phenomenological research focuses on investigating an event or phenomenon through interpreting and describing the lived experiences of the participants (Gelling, 2011). Both grounded and phenomenological research focuses on true life experiences as well as the social aspects. They examine the real-life situations and need a great extent of interaction amid the individual, researcher, situations, or groups that are being examined through observations and interviews.
The difference between phenomenological research and grounded theory is the way they are obtained, gathered, and researched. Phenomenological research attempts to evaluate how individuals realize and understand certain situations (Kompa, 2013). The information is gathered from an individual that describes their life experiences. For instance, a study focusing on the nurses’ experiences while conducting the hourly round focuses on the lived experience during the hourly round. The grounded theory focuses on the symbolic reaction to examining issues at the social scene as well as viewing situations. It involves gathering data that may contribute to the establishment of a theory. The theory develops meaning about a certain issue through modeling and analyzing a theory. Unlike phenomenologists, grounded theorists include all sources of data that might contribute to theory development such as images, diaries, observations, and past literature.
