ANSWER
Communist Ideology
Fact
Communism originates from the Latin word communis, which refers to “common, universal” is a social, philosophical, economic and political movement and ideology whose main aim is to establish a society based on communist principles (Dagger et al., 2019). This is a socioeconomic order designed around the ideals of collective ownership of production means and the absence of the state, money, and social classes. Communism is thus a type of socialism. Karl Marx presented 10 fundamental tenets of communism, which include: government-controlled education; a central system of banking; labour controlled by the government; government-owned communication and transportation vehicles; confiscation of property rights; abolishing private property; regional planning; heavy income tax for all; and elimination of inheritance rights (Hoyt, 2020).
Analysis
Communism comprises various schools of thought including anarcho-communism and Marxism and the political theories surrounding both. It presents the analysis that the current societal order is based on capitalism, its mode of production and economic system. Communism presents the belief that there are two main social classes; the proletariat and the bourgeoisie, and that conflict between them is the root of all issues encountered by a society. Communism contends that a social revolution is the only solution to this situation. The proletariat refers to the working class who comprise the majority in society and have to work to support themselves, whereas the bourgeoisie refer to the capitalist class who comprise a small minority deriving profit from employing the proletariat and owning production means.
Opinion
The communist society described by Karl Marx provides the government with supreme authority as it controls means of production and land. The government is responsible for the distribution of property and land among its people. The communist ideology sets the standard for equality socially and economically.
