According to an article by David A. Love, it is time for Joe Biden to speak out on the violence against Palestinians by Israel. The article suggests that the U.S. should not support state-sanctioned violence and the repression against Palestinians. The violence that has broken out in Israel and Palestine has had the Israel defence forces using US-supplied bombs to attack the Palestinian territories. Biden’s response to the war between Israel and Palestine was that Israel has a right to defend itself and that their reaction and the bombing of Gaza was not an overreaction. The article, however, disagrees with Biden and states that with Israel benefiting from U.S. aid amounting to $4 billion annually, the U.S. was in apposition to make Israel do better. The article questions the need for Israel to defend itself and the need for the Palestinians to survive.

This article clearly depicts the dilemmas that governments face, especially when it comes to war. The United States president is tasked with restoring peace between Israel and Palestine because they provide aid for Israel. The lack of a concrete response from the president is seen as an underrepresentation of the values of the American people. Some members of Congress are speaking out against the war in Palestine and speaking against the silence of the United States government in the war. Therefore, the president is torn in between pulling out aid from Israel and supporting them as they defend themselves.

The war between Palestine and Israel has been there for a long time. It is hard to choose a side as both make strong cases. The Palestinians do not deserve to lose their women and children and deserve a safe place. However, the Israeli government also has a right to defend its borders and control any threat that is made against its citizens. The two nations need to look for an amicable solution and stop the killings. They need to live as brothers and end the violence that has ensued for years.
