M3 Writing Analysis
You are a doctor in a hospital, and a patient is experiencing trouble with her skin repairing itself from a cut. The patient is also expecting a child, but the cells in the reproduction development are experiencing malfunction in cell division.
Describe the stages of each type of cell reproduction process from a normal patient whose body cells can repair themselves and normal cell division during the reproductive development of the unborn baby.
Explain the disadvantages and advantages of each type of cell division.
Discuss how the patient experiencing problems with the cells repairing from the cut and the child’s reproduction development malfunctions can alter haploid and diploid cell development.

Writing Analysis
There are two distinct types of cell division which include meiosis and mitosis. Mitosis is the process that the body uses to generate identical copies known as daughter cells. (Stromsodt, 2019). In the stages of mitosis, the cell chromosomes are copied and equally distributed between the two nuclei daughter cells. One advantage of mitosis is that it creates identical cells. For instance, this makes the liver or skin to be created of similar cells. Another advantage is that it enables plants to mass-produce leaves that have an identical property.
If a cell is damaged, it is effortlessly repaired through mitosis, which means it is essential in the growth and repair of tissues. However, the usefulness of mitosis is limited since it’s not easy to link structural change to genetic change. Mitosis leads to all organisms in a population and plans within an area with similar DNA, thus preventing various species (Ohkura, 2015). The DNA in mitosis is replicated repeatedly, which may risk the entire population species since the DNA is the same.
Meiosis entails a process whereby cell division results in four cells with half of the genetic information (Stromsodt, 2019). The significant advantage of meiosis is that it permits the expression of new traits due to the crossing over, a process where each offspring is different. The genetic diversity in meiosis allows organisms to adapt and suit their environment, evolve, and survive well in catastrophic events (Ohkura, 2015). However, whenever a disease occurs, there is a higher chance that some of the populations may fail to fall sick. One of the disadvantages of meiosis is finding a mate. An organism cannot reproduce by itself and has to find another. Additionally, the offsprings produced are small due to the time and energy needed to find a mate.
The patient encountering challenges in cell repair indicates a malfunction in the miotic process which is central in somatic cell division. Ideally, the diploid and haploid cells undergo mitosis. Therefore, mitosis, which adds new cells in the development and replaces the worn-out cells, may influence cell repairing and development, which alter the diploid and haploid cell development.
