Work place health and safety is specifically designed to prevent work place injuries illness and deaths as well as suffering and financial difficulties and inconveniences caused by this occurrences (Sandra, Agnes, Vol 8.2 (2021). There are numerous work place health and safety rights but there are main three which include: Firstly, the right to refuse dangerous work and know that you’re protected from reprisal. Secondly, the right to know about workplace hazards and have access to basic health and safety information. Thirdly, the right to participate in health and safety discussions and health and safety committees. These rights protects the workers and makes them work safely and prevent any injuries that might bright them trouble or financial constraints. Some companies have mechanisms in place to cater of damages caused at the work place to ensure the workers confidence and reliability.
With thousands of articles that relate to the health and safety at work place by the well-established writers, we can have a clear understanding of the most recent measures on how will the COVID-19 pandemic change the field of occupational safety and health? Safety Health asked prominent voices to share their perspective. COVID-19 response has fundamentally changed the way many perceive safety. Prior to COVID-19 operational barriers to safe work practices were ubiquitous but when companies saw that they had to drive herculean efforts to get or keep their business open, everything changed (Miconi, Diana, et al 31.3 (2021): 576-594). Today many, if not all business operators understand they can, and must do anything to provide a safe workplace for their employees. As the COVID-19 pandemic advances, safety professionals across the country have felt the effects. But are the various changes here to stay? Therefore employers have to come up with a way to protect their workers and ensure their safety.
The article work place safety is something that should not be taken slightly considering the effects that it has on the people who benefit both directly and indirectly. The surprising thing about this article especially the COVID-19 safety is that no one knows when the effects will eventually come to an end and an individual has very little time to seek medication attention (Kisby, Thomas, Açelya Yilmazer (2021): 1-8). The virus on the other hand spreads very quick making it hard to control therefore resorting to preventions that are too much demanding both on the management and the individual. This situation can be handled but if all the parties, that is employees and employers come together to accomplish the task. Handling of the situation by seeking prevention as opposed to sure is much better and will solve many difficulties effectively. The information provided in the textbook and the information at hand both have are useful and can be used to ensure that the safety of the workers are followed appropriately.
