Hello Gilbert, I agree with your post and proposed program the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act when addressing the nonfinancial barriers. However, I feel that this Act is mostly essential when addressing financial barriers as it enables patients to understand their health coverage rights. The example given indicates that residents have accessibility and affordability issues, making it difficult to access adequate healthcare. I also concur fully with you that most of the nonfinancial barriers are because of the financial constraints people have. For instance, it is not that there is a lack of transportation, but most of the residents cannot afford the high transportation costs to the nearby town (Kullgren, 2012). Both the federal and state governments have the responsibility to develop policies that ensure affordability, accessibility, and reliability of healthcare facilities. Besides, globalization has enabled the collaboration of both public and private organizations, where they can work together to ensure the above factors are achieved.
