Gender inequality is a form of discrimination based on gender causing a certain sex to be prioritized and routinely privileged over the other (Carter and Reardon, 2014). Gender inequality has had a long lasting and serious consequence for women due to exposure to objectification, violence and socioeconomic inequality. Gender inequality affects the society through limit the capacity of women to build their personal abilities and make choices regarding their lives (Caliendo, 2021). Therefore, this developmental program will be focused on building gender equality through increasing awareness and offering constructive solutions that will enable all the genders to have a voice in the initiative.

Gender inequality among African Americans is a long-standing problem that has been historically rooted in the institution of slavery. For centuries, African American women have been subjected to sexual harassment and violence, as well as having fewer opportunities for education and employment. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s brought about some changes in the status of African American women, but gender inequality still persists (Mullings, 2014). In recent years, there has been a renewed focus on this issue, with the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement and other social justice initiatives.
