The Benefits of Measuring Organizational Change

Measuring organizational change is vital because managers must prove that their programs are practical and valuable tools to stay funded or continue operating with specific resources. Organizations measure organizational change by assessing whether there was any progress towards goals outlined at the beginning of the program based on the metrics used to measure the difference (Prasad, 2020). The benefits of measuring organizational change are numerous, including assessing the effectiveness of the change, identifying areas that need improvement, ensuring, assisting in managing change, and creating an organization where people are engaged and focused on the company goals.

Ideally, measuring organizational change is essential in determining and communicating the success or limitations of the change process across the organization to facilitate adaptation and communication (Stouten, Rousseau and De Cremer, 2018). Measuring organizational change offers results that become the focus with regards to the future desired outcomes. By measuring organizational change, the organization can see the value of their reorganization or new program.

Challenges in creating and sustaining a culture of long-term success for an organization

This is because, in the absence of commitment and reinforcement, employees are exposed to any number of outside influences that can tempt them to make bad decisions when it comes to maintaining the culture’s success. Ineffective communication can lead to frustrations in the culture, which creates a breeding ground for confusion and distrust. Poor employee retention influences workplace relationships, which impacts the creation and development of a long term success culture within the organization.
