Research Problem: Juvenile delinquency in low-income neighborhoods
Research Question: Can creating youth empowerment programs in low-income neighborhoods prevent delinquency?
According to young et al. (2018), there has been a rise in juvenile delinquency since the rise of urbanization. The youth in low-income neighborhoods have become involved in crime, especially when they are not supervised. Juvenile delinquency is a term that refers to a young person who has committed a criminal offense. The term varies depending on the jurisdiction. There was a rise in youth committing crime between 1980 and 1990 in the US which led t the development of harsh juvenile laws. The research question, in this case, aims to answer whether creating youth empowerment programs will help prevent delinquency in low-income neighborhoods. Delinquents in low-income neighborhoods mostly end up dead or in the system, and this is the problem that this research paper aims to solve.

According to the UN, causes and conditions of juvenile delinquency are found at every level of the social structure. However, it is important to understand the factors that lead to juvenile delinquency. Socio-economic instability often leads to unemployment and parents’ unemployment, which can lead young people to participate in criminal activities. A young person from a low-income family is likely to look for alternative methods of making money, leading to them joining gangs and getting involved in criminal activity. Another cause of juvenile delinquency is parental negligence. Young people who grow up with negligent parents have a higher chance of getting involved in criminal activities and delinquent behavior.
Researching the Symptom
According to Guarniccia (2020), disorders and deviant behavior are associated with traumatic and adverse developmental experiences. This means that experiences of Poverty and lack during childhood can lead to youth becoming delinquent. There is also a link between paternal antipathy and hostility in triggering delinquent trajectories. According to Moitra et al. (2017), parenting behaviors affect the development of delinquent behavior. According to the study done by Moitra et al. (2017), the delinquent behaviors were more rampant in permissive parents compared to the stricter parents.
Mitigating ethical issues
The research, in this case, involves research articles from different authors, and thus, to mitigate the issues of plagiarism, the authors were cited, and there is a reference page provided. In cases where real data was collected, the author ensures that there is complete anonymity of the subjects and none of their names appear in the research. It is also important to establish a strong foundation and honestly assess the resources used in the research.
