Introduction

Implementing a EHR will entail having a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure efficiency. This will provide privacy and security compliance, train the care team, design practice overflows, and manage the adoption system.  A thoughtful EHR implementation will aid the put data more quickly to the news system and aid in benefiting the patients, the staff, and other physicians.

.           For an EHR implementation, the first requirement has an implementation team.  This team will involve physicians, nurses, compliance officers, and administrative staff. The clinicians will play a role in teaching EHR skills to the colleagues and bring clinical challenges back to the implementation team. There will also be a need for a lead physician who will guide the organization throughout the implementation. He/she will serve the link between the front-line users, the administrative and technical staff (Care Cloud, 2020).  There will also be a need for a project manager, who will work closely with the vendor and other staff to ensure that timelines are kept and track the progress of the implementation.  Finally, a super leader user will also be very vital. His role will be to configure the EHR software, create templates and also order sets. The super leader user will also develop revised workflows or standard operating procedures to address the issues’ front-line users.

Another requirement will be to identify the hardware needs to save the organization money and time.  The system hardware needs will depend on the type of EHR purchased. An IT service company could help the organization with system hardware needs since it will know the best equipment to apply, troubleshoot and install devices, including the local network and routers. There will be a  need for data transfer (Beeson, 2020). This will be by first determining the approach for migrating data from former recording systems. It can be done using the existing staff members, who will be mandated to upload the demographics and past medical histories.

Another key need will be to optimize pre-lunch workflows, which will help evaluate the likely challenges that could result from inefficient workflows or insufficient support staff. This will be followed by considering the room layout since the placement of computers and other machines will significantly impact patient care.  The format will have to ensure that it enables effective communication between the patient and the physician.  Finally, there will then be a need for the training program. The program will ensure that all the caregivers, physicians, and staff members can use the EHR system smoothly without any hitches (Care Cloud, 2020). The training program will comprehensively define what the system entails and explain to all relevant staff members what will be required of them and how they will go about operating the system.

Conclusion

For an effective HER implementation, several requirements will be required to ensure that it improves the welling and quality of health care in a medical institution. First, the workers will need to know the system, which will be made more efficient through having a training program. There will also be a need for the institution to configure necessary software, identify network needs, optimize pre-launch workflows, and consider the room layout, which will host the system.
