Environmental conservation gets serious to the world more and more each year. Currently, world governments and associations are in a rush to ensure our activities on the planet are sustainable. As Jenny Luna explains it, one such thing is in the way we consume food, in particular, takeout food. On a normal day in most places around the world, an individual consumes three meals a day. If a person uses plastic as disposable cutlery, then, indeed, we have a problem. Scientists say that the human population has been growing exponentially, from 2.3 billion in the 1950s to 7.8 billion today. The large increase in population means more effect on the environment, and that is why observations like cutlery become vital.
At the same time, research indicates that the only way to sustain the planet is by enabling its biodiversity. With plastic forks and spoons disposed all over the land and more in the sea, choking wild animals to death means that we are destroying ecosystems and diminishing biodiversity, and bringing our world closer to the edge. For a higher overhead cost to produce consumable or biodegradable cutlery and the improvement such a positive measure would bring to the environment, the hospitality industry should consider it an approach. Analysts suppose that nothing ideal has been done to fix the environment because everyone thinks the problem belongs to someone else. By taking this approach, the hospitality industry will have open doors to the other industries to make remedy attempts. With carbon IV oxide accumulating in the atmosphere, icebergs melting in the polar regions, a complete mess in weather patterns, extinction of species, depletion of the ozone layer, and an increase in human environmental illnesses, it is time that gets clear to everyone that environmental conservation is an all hands on deck situation.
