Free college for everyone would enable the United States, for the first time in history, to enable a considerable number of students to see their dreams come true. The Biden administration has been at the forefront of promoting free education, but the senate has posed a challenge for them (Berman, 2021). Millions of people voted in the new government, with many giving credit to the free education plan. Free college education harbors various economic benefits that are useful to both the student involved and the economy of the nation. For instance, free college education would promote an immediacy of increased income from savings. These savings can be generated from an increased disposable income of $61 billion (Carnevale et al., 2020). With such a huge amount to spare, many families can channel these funds into other valuable projects other than funding college education for their children. In addition, apart from free college education contributing to an increased disposable income of $61 billion, such disposable funds could also promote a yearly increase in economic growth. This will promote many households having more available funds to be spent as desired, thereby raising the country’s GDP (Schuler et al., 2018).
Free college education will also promote an increase in human capital. The success of any country depends on the number of professional human capital that can help steer the country’s economy in the right direction (Ehrlich et al., 2017). Free colleges will promote a high number of enrollment for students who qualify. With the country experiencing many graduates, there will be a huge number of human capital in different economic sectors. Human capital can also create financial wealth by engaging in additional consumer spending (Ehrlich et al., 2017). An experienced human capital will see many people getting employment opportunities with considerable disposable income, thus being able to increase economic spending, necessary for the growth of the country’s economy.
