The writer comprehensively expounds on why there are few chances of one managing to survive on Mars. This is despite the fact that the planet has been noted to have liquid water and may be habitable for microorganisms. The writer expounds more on the role of great thinkers such as Elon Musk, who believes that there is a high probability of people being able to go to mars and even make it their habitat.

Some of the critical factors highlighted by the writer, that could make Mars inhabitable, include lack of water sources, high levels of UV penetration, and the extreme climate change. Others include the presence of hydrogen in the soil, making it hard for crops to grow. I agree with the writer that these factors are too challenging for a continuous stay at the planet since they make it more inhabitable.

Nevertheless, there are hopes that human beings can still be able to get there and stay. However, they will need to take everything from earth since it is clear that nothing from mars can be used for their survival.  The writer also states that there is a need for a special suit that can help a person visit the planet to avoid getting the UV expositions and help in the breathing of oxygen-rich air.  This means that there is a need for a massive investment before one can embark on moving to the planet.

I however can’t entirely agree with the advice that people should desist from visiting the planet. This is since; I believe that more and more people should explore options on how to manage to live on the planet and help in supporting Elon Musk’s dream.  I also believe that the idea is not as far from possible as the writer claims.
