The article has focused on the factors that allow community health workers to lead community healthcare. Community health workers have been set out universally as low-cost and local health resources in societies with challenges in benefiting from healthcare services (Sabo, Allen, Sutkowi, and Wennerstrom, 2017). One of the major issues in community health is that community health workers feel under-supported and overburdened.  Community health workers are a low-level health personnel, but their usefulness is linked to their significant connection with the community (Payne et al., 2017). The significance of this article was to critique and synthesize the current literature on the causes of improvement community health schemes through community health personnel on the grounds that social capital is essential in community health. Therefore, the article synthesized qualitative data linked to community-based health personnel concerning social resources to improve community health improvement.

The article reported on 33 articles that offered qualitative data on community-based health and social capital (Mohajer and Singh, 2018). The article identified three constructs that allow the community health personnel to facilitate changes in behavior within the community. These include accompaniment, empowerment and service as a calling. The studies in communities with community health workers indicated that social capital is generated by developing networks and relationships of trust that overcome obstacles. For instance, community health workers use their resources to meet the community’s expectations and maintain their trust (Malcarney et al., 2017). The article has indicated the need for competent community health personnel to convey curative and diagnostic services to the people. The article has also highlighted the importance of social capital, which is built through relationships of trust. Through this, they can embrace all the inequalities that communities experience, such as unequal resources. The community health personnel feel under-equipped to accomplish their necessities, meet community anticipations and those of their employees, and deliver health services.
