Moral Reasoning Response

According to Gilligan, Kohlberg’s theory of moral reasoning is biased and only applies to privileged men and boys. According to Gilligan, women face many Psychological challenges, and thus they are not moral widgets. Women’s point of view involves caring, and thus, they have an effect on human relationships. According to Gilligan, one’s moral reasoning changes because they have changed as a person, not because of their critical thinking level (Moheghi et al., 2020). According to Gilligan, Kohlberg’s post-conventional level of thinking is not easy for women because they care for relationships. According to Gilligan, there are two types of thinking at the post-conventional level, care-based morality and justice-based morality. Care-based morality is found in women. There are differences in male and female moral reasoning due to the following factors. Some of these factors can also be traced to socialization. Women are judged by the empathy and care they show, while men are judged by their leading qualities, which could have contributed to these differences.
