Students should respond to at least one original post by supplying a different (3rd) theory on the fact (observable behavior in the original post). You don’t have to think the theory is right. You are only showing how different theories can apply to the same behavior. Do not respond to another student by saying that you agree or disagree with the theories already described. Intimacy and Identity

One’s identity is determined by the type of upbringing they get. According to Erickson’s psychosocial development stages, if one’s parents encourage them to explore new things and encourage them to keep going despite their failures, they form a strong sense of identity. One’s intimacy is also influenced by other factors, such as their environment. According to Erickson’s psychosocial development, young adults form intimate and loving relationships. If one fails to develop these relationships, they can be lonely (Lally & Valentine-French, 2019). The idea of identity and intimacy can be confusing. For example, if a person does not have a strong sense of identity, they will have a problem forming intimate relationships. This is because they have an identity crisis. One’s identity can also be affected by their environment. For example, if one grows up in an environment where heterosexual relationships are the only normal sexual relationships, they may struggle with intimacy, especially if they are not heterosexual. They may also struggle with gender identity if they only grew up knowing only two gender identities.
