Integration of Faith in Supply Chain Management

Introduction

Supply chain management focuses on the handling of products and services from manufacturing to consumption. Supply chain management demands that a company has a chain of suppliers that act as a link in the supply chain to move the goods through every stage (Frazzon, 2019). Supply chain management requires coordination by various agents who aim to boost the efficiency of the supply chain. Therefore, integration of faith in the supply chain management allows the flow of information and communication among all participants who can effortlessly exchange information through execution, organization and completion of logistics and transport operations in the product’s lifetime.

Ephesians 4:16 says that  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, increases the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Considerably, the body has many different parts that must work together for anything to happen. The whole body consists of body parts that are properly united to produce the most vigour and beauty. Each member is in the best position and is well united with other members. For instance, the foot is in its proper place and should not be where the hand or head is since no other place would answer the purpose effectively.

All the parts must work together for the body to function properly. The hand has to grab the food; the mouth has to chew while the stomach has to digest the food for body nourishment. This is similar to supply chain management which requires that all body parts work to ensure that the company grows strong and makes a difference in its supply chain operations. Integrating and coordinating all parts of the supply chain can significantly lower the operating expenses through efficiency reflected in all aspects of the supply chain (Almomoni, 2021). Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 supports coordination and integration in supply chain management since it says that two are better than one because they have a good return for their labour: If either falls, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Therefore, working together in supply chain management will improve the efficiency and success of the supply chain.

The success of the supply chain depends on the firm’s efficiency in managing the process to lower the costs and boost competitiveness (Avelar-Sosa et al., 2019). Quality has a huge impact on supply chain management. Quality control in the supply chain enables protection of the company’s status. For instance, the better the control over the external supplier input, the lower the risk of proceeds and potentially risky product failure. All the stakeholders of the supply chain influence the quality of the products.

The ultimate decision on product quality is linked to whether or not the customer is satisfied with the product. Therefore, the supply chain stakeholder must ensure that the product has attained consumer standards. 1 Corinthians 14:40 says, Let all things be done decently and in order. This verse links to the need for doing things in a proper sequence rather than impulsively and haphazardly in supply chain management. The ultimate objective of supply chain management is to improve efficiency through collaboration and good information flow that helps an organization to remain agile and handle variability and unexpected issues.

Conclusion

In summation, supply chain management depends on the capability of stakeholders to work together to achieve a common goal. Every stakeholder has a role in supply chain management, just as the parts of the body have to work together for functionality. All supply chain activities should work together to help in achieving high quality and efficiency to help in finding success.
