Intel’s vs. AMD’s 64-bit Processors

Integrated electronics is an international business institution located in the United States, Santa Clara, California. Similarly, Advanced Micro Devices is another semiconductor company situated within California. The two companies produce 64-bit processors having both similarities and differences. These features are grouped according to performance, cooling capabilities, power usage, and even graphics (Stegailov & Vecher, 2017). AMD is offering the same essential items at a cheaper value than Intel in terms of cost. AMD manufactures “clones” of Intel goods and their chip and motherboard development line. In performance-wise, Intel has developed the quadcore and core 2 duo processors that are effective compared to AMD. AMD consumes less power than Intel processors. Research outlines that Intel’s core 2 duo processor uses approximately 6 warts more power than an AMD Sempron (Renda et al., 2020). On the similarities, both manufacture motherboards, which are the circuitry at the base of every personal computer. They also create central processing chips for these computers.

Latest Intel and AMD Offerings

Richland is the latest microprocessor created by AMD in response to Intel’s Haswell microprocessor. This item has been created to replace piledriver. The size is the same; however, it has new APU’s compatible with the previous motherboard (Alamsyah, Utomo & Gunawan, 2018). This new processor has a more effective graphics core and is less expensive. Features for A10-6800K include 4 threads and cores with a clock speed of almost 4.0 GHz. On the other hand, Intel has created the Haswell microprocessor, which is offered in i7, i3, and i5 (Mofrad et al., 2018). It has a tinnier chipset over Sandy Bridge-E and a reduced TDP wattage.

Intel and AMD Chipset

The AMD580X chipset can support motherboards with double PCI Express x16 slots that can be utilized with two ATIRadeon crossfire-compatible graphic cards. It can increase the multiplier, front side bus, PCI express interfaces, and central processing unit (Sun et al., 2019). On the other hand, Intel 975X operates effectively with hyper-threading for several graphic cards and 8GB memory to allow 64-bit computing.
