Interpersonal communication can be described as the exchange of data, feelings and ideas between two or several individuals through verbal and non-verbal techniques. The process is more advantageous than mass communication because it allows detailed conversation and problem-solving by weighing the advantages and disadvantages of alternatives before settling on a final solution. Interpersonal is better than mass communication because there are role-taking and provision of active feedback. Mass communication lacks quick feedback and the inability to engage in active role-taking. These reasons make interpersonal communication more significant than mass contact because of its accuracy.
