The ethical principles highlighted at Xerox include nurturing integrity. Integrity in any organization is the ability to do one’s work in perfection with or without supervision. Integrity is one of the values required in any leader and any manager in an organization. At Xerox, they nurture integrity, which means the organization focuses on implanting value in all their employees. A culture of integrity involves the top managers and the ability of the employees to perceive them as trustworthy (Aspan, 2017). Therefore, cultivating a culture of integrity means that the company focuses on openness and guiding the employees to become trustworthy. Another ethical principle in Xerox is inclusion. Inclusion means that the organization works towards ensuring all members of eth community are represented and that their needs are met (Manning et al., 2019). Inclusion also means that the company has zero tolerance in terms of discrimination against any group of people and that people within the organization are treated equally.
Ethical principles are different from values in that principles are more of rules that are permanent and universal while values change depending on the environment and personal grot of a person. Integrity can, however, be said to be both an ethical principle and a value (Shu et al., 2018). Integrity is an ethical principle, however, it combines managerial responsibility for ethical behaviour with the law. Therefore, integrity in an organisation means that people follow ethical behaviour and ensure that no laws are broken. Inclusion has not been there in the past and is a concept that is gradually growing. This is more of an ethical principle that can be nurtured into becoming a value. Inclusion involves respecting other people despite differences in opinion. Many organizations today still struggle with the concept of inclusion, but in organizations that aim to nurture an ethical environment, inclusion is not a problem as they follow the law on the guidelines of inclusion in organizations.
