Case Study: Organizational Change

The ABC Company is a small company that has been in existence for ten years. It has 50 employees, and despite the many years of existence, it has not expanded and is only in one location. The company lacks communication between the leadership and the employees hence the high levels of mistrust. For an organization to move forward or grow, they need to embrace change, and that change will be kick-started through communication. An improvement in communication between the leaders and the employees will improve the performance of the company.

Challenges facing the company

The main challenge facing the company is communication. The communication between the CEO and the managers is lacking, which is slowing down the performance of the company.

There are also problems with communication between the managers. Poor communication between the managers has led to the stagnation of the company (Odor, 2018). For a company to succeed, there has to be efficient communication and the sharing of ideas among the members of the organization.

The third problem facing ABC is the lack of involvement of the junior employees, which has led to mistrust. For an organization to expand, there has to be efficient communication and involvement of all the members of the organization.

The major decision-makers in the ABC Company are the president, who is the old gentleman who works from home, and the managers. These are the critical decision-makers (Odor, 2018). The president’s role is to illustrate the objectives of the company and the goals while the managers ensure that the objectives and goals are being met through supervision of the operations of the company by the employees.

The company will need to involve all its employees in creating teams and towards achieving the global goal. This will involve managers and their juniors. The formation of cohesive teams will increase the company’s chances of expanding (Downs et al, 2020). Cohesive teams mean that the managers have to efficiently communicate with the employees and team members and create short-term and long-term goals. They can also develop a program where they motivate themselves after achieving a goal.

Team collaboration communication needs to incorporate efficient and prompt communication. This means that the president will need to be more actively involved in the company. The managers also have to hold physical meetings where they will discuss progressive ideas in each of their departments. The ideas discussed in the meetings will then be shared with the employees, and plans will be developed on how to actualize them.

The timeline towards expansion looks impossible and somewhat unreachable but through efficient communication and setting achievable goals, the company can expand gradually. If the company adopts the changes required, it will go national and then international.

The first thing they will have to implement is efficient communication. They will have to create a communicative environment that will build trust in the organization (Driver, 2017). The second thing they need to do is make a bench head team and have a market strategy before making the decision to go global.

The assumption used to give the solutions is efficient communication increases effectiveness and improves the workplace environment. A bench head team enables companies to dominate small areas and the market. Market readiness will help the company promote its product to the target audience and improve its understanding of the product.
