Discipline plans

The discipline I chose to analyze was Ms. Sund’s third-grade plan. Ms. Sund prefers to notify the students about the rules, expectations, and procedures which she has for them.  She ensures that her plan is developed in consideration of the safety and wellbeing of her students. Ms. Sund wants the students to feel safe and valued in the course of learning, a factor that will make them enjoy learning more and be interested in her lessons.  In case of an error or a mistake by one of the students, she lets them decide what kind of punishment they deserve. The students also have a choice of deciding what they want and they would like to be treated in the course of lessons. From their ideas, she then formulates programs and the class rules.  Ms.  Sund portrays herself as a professional, where she is guided by great ethical and moral standards. She is also caring based on the fact that she is very keen on the safety of the learners.

I, therefore, agree with her teaching style, which I think should be emulated by other teachers. I also concur with her, methods of punishment, which, make the students more reasonable in their actions. I am convinced that the majority of the learners are interested in attending Ms. Sund’s classes because they are not restricted or under tough rules that would make them want to be resistant.  I however feel that the teacher in some instances may be too lenient with some of the students, who then may fail to cooperate since they are sure that they will not get punished for their mistakes.  She, hence on top of her great program, should have a set of discipline programs that would be based on a set of rules that the students have to abide by.
