Response: Miami Water Problems

I concur with this post on the issue of climate change in South Florida. The writer states that the imminent threat of climate change has lately faced in south Florida. From the post, it is apparent that climate change is an urgent issue that should be addressed due to its negative consequences on people’s livelihoods.  According to the writer, some of the consequences of climate change include changing weather patterns, increasing temperatures, and rising sea levels. All these are likely to result in much damage to the people and property in South Florida.

I also agree that a Rise in the sea level is likely to lead to the contamination of the  Biscayne acquire, which is the primary source of fresh water to residents, a  factor that could  lead to more harm caused by the contamination. As a result, the South Florida administration has been keen on offering preventative measures, which will help in reducing the contamination. These measures, if effective, will help the county continue to provide clean water to the residents and avoid any emergence of contamination or illnesses. The measures are also in place to help deal with future flooding’ incidences, which may make the situation worse than it currently is.

I am in agreement with the measures that a politician in the county should undertake to prevent contamination of the water sources. Some of the notable recommendations include ref restoration, installing pumps to the drained eater, and wetlands restoration. I also am of a similar opinion that despite all these measures, the key challenge that should be focused on is the issues of greenhouse emissions, which a key factor is contributing to global warming and increasing sea levels.
