Apart from fraudulent NGOs seeking to extort money from willing givers in society, many NGOs play a crucial role according to their formation. NGO’s have helped many people across the world in terms of relief or bailing out stranded patients in hospitals and helping kids in war-prone areas, among many other things. However, getting the required finances to run an NGO successfully usually is not a walk in the park. Many NGOs are faced with reluctant donors who may at times are reluctant to dig deep into their pocket either because of it being a new thing to them or not necessarily understating how their money is going to be spent. Thus, there are several ways that one can develop a fundraising program for non-governmental organizations.

Developing a fundraising culture within an organization can be an initial progress towards creating a giving environment (Brommel, 2021). The staff can play a crucial role in raising funds by being actively involved in the whole process and understanding how fundraising works. By doing so, it will make it easier for individuals to contribute towards an NGO as they will have been accustomed to giving and sharing.

Another way is involving the organization’s board in the fundraising process (Brommel, 2021). People who constitute the boards are generally rich and powerful individuals who can contribute heavily to a course. By explaining what the organization entails, they may even refer their other powerful friend sin contributing to the vital cause.

Having a definite cause of giving as a tool for persuasion may go a long way in raising funds for an NGO (Brommel, 2021). Most people and stakeholders who are approached about donating emphasize knowing how their money will be spent and who are the primary beneficiaries. With cases of being conned on the rise, one needs to be fully equipped with the appropriate knowledge to persuade others to donate.
