Role of Nurse Leaders in Healthcare Reengineering

Healthcare reengineering has been a revolutionary force in caregiving. It has entailed the health sector embracing cost-effective care, ensuring transparency and efficiency between caregivers and patients, and providing quality healthcare (Hostetter, 2021). Nurse leaders and managers are tasked with ensuring the operations of the hospital run smoothly and act as advocates for both the patients and staff. Nurse leaders and managers play a crucial role in healthcare reengineering through proper monitoring and supervision of the elements of caregiving (Hostetter, 2021). They ensure that patients are provided with the best healthcare and attention and look into any grievances. They also ensure that their staff is equipped with the necessary tools to provide care. This is achieved by advocating for more budget allocation for the ministry of health and bridging the gap between the staff and the ministry. They ensure the grievances of the staff are represented to the highest level for proper action to be taken. For healthcare engineering to be effective, all healthcare bodies, from caregivers to patients, should operate with utmost satisfaction, promoted by nurse leaders and managers (Larson, 2019).

As Continuous Quality Improvement is vital to the healthcare industry’s success, it is necessary to ensure that it runs smoothly for effectiveness. I would mitigate for transparency with the hospital, especially between the staff and the patients. When patients receive transparency from the caregivers, they gain confidence in them, a crucial element in caregiving. I will also promote teamwork and openness among the staff. By engaging in open conversation, every staff member will feel heard and represented, and any grievances presented will be addressed with promptness. I would also promote better patient-caregiver relationships through a more personal approach. Healthcare is not always about medicine, but also patients feeling that the emotional burden and journey towards recovery is also shared with their caregivers.
