Students are required to submit weekly reflective narratives throughout the course that will culminate in a final, course-long reflective journal due in Topic 10. The narratives help students integrate leadership and inquiry into current practice.

This reflection journal also allows students to outline what they have discovered about their professional practice, personal strengths and weaknesses, and additional resources that could be introduced in a given situation to influence optimal outcomes. Each week students should also explain how they met a course competency or course objective(s).

In each week’s entry, students should reflect on the personal knowledge and skills gained throughout the course. Journal entries should address one or more of the areas stated below. In the Topic 10 graded submission, each of the areas below should be addressed as part of the summary submission.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

The venture into nursing practicum and professional development has been the most illuminating endeavor in my life. I have taken passion and commitment in the nursing practice as the guiding principles guiding my professional capacity. In the course of study, I have built the strength of perception in taking nursing practice as life itself. This is based on the extensive nature of lives nurses touch and the impact it creates on health care. The human nature and humanity is highly advanced through efficient nursing practice. Therefore, it is integral for the nurses to conduct and illustrate highest form of professionalism and commitment to the professional capacity.

Professional Collaboration

In nursing practice, the professional collaboration of leadership skills and integration of technology has been a vital figure to the expansion and improvement of efficient in functionalism. That is, leadership has grown to be a key feature in the nursing practice that guides taking initiative into key ventures and activities vital to the growth and expansion of nursing practice. It is crucial for nurses to value technology and apply it day to day practice to enhance the professional capacity.

Health Care Delivery and Clinical Systems

The knowledge on health care delivery and clinical systems has been fundamental to the development of understanding and conceptualization of the nursing practice. For example, in the use of technologies such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) has been a fundamental feature in the expansion and increment of efficiency in handling of patients’ care (Hardin, Kilian & Spykerman, 2017). EHR enhances the efficiency of health care delivery and clinical systems used on daily basis in the nursing practice.

Ethical Considerations in Health Care and Practice of Culturally Sensitive Care

This is a primary feature that must be utilized in decision making in the nursing profession. From time to time, nurses are encountered with difficult ethical considerations and decisions that must be made. As a result, through the course reading and developments, I have come to incorporate and value ethical considerations in the nursing profession as a key feature. This is integral to ensuring the maximum safety and impact is the nursing profession is exercised. The best interest for the patient is the driving force of the nursing practice. This goes hand in hand in the handling of culturally sensitive care that is guided by the best interest for the patient.

Preservation of Integrity of Human Dignity in the Care of All Patients

Integrity of human dignity, for example, among persons with chronic diseases as well, as the elderly is critical feature of the nursing practice. This is vital in enabling patients live and experience a dignified course of health inefficiency in their lowest moments in life (Kadivar, Mardani-Hamooleh & Kouhnavard, 2018). As a result, the human value if emphasized and upheld as an integral feature of the nursing practice.

Population Health Concerns and Health Disparities

The knowledge on this aspect has been expanded to illuminate on handling of patients in the community. This is attained through effective health policies that emphasize quality, high standards and equality in health care delivery. Community health as a diversified context of health care delivery requires fairness and justice for all patients to enjoy the best care possible. In the American health care system marred with historical cases of health disparities requires policies that emphasize on care efficiency and equality among all patients indiscriminately.

Role of Technology in Improving Health Care Outcomes

In the contemporary health care delivery systems, technology is a core feature that must be integrated to enhance the efficiency in care delivery. The use of technology impacts on health care outcomes and increases patients’ satisfaction and safety (Alotaibi & Federico, 2017). For instance, the incorporation of home care health services, the use of technology has been the driving factor enabling the realization of the set objectives. That is, nursing can maintain constant monitoring and communication with patients to mark the progress in care delivery and improvement of the health of the patient.
