Subjective Assessment
- The patient has only experienced a concussion once after being involved in a minor road accident. The patient has recently been experiencing headaches.

Objective Assessment
The skin color in the patient’s head is normal. There is no facial drooping and the facial movements are normal. I asked the patient to smile, frown and raise their eyebrow to observe their symmetrical movement which was normal. There were no obvious deformities on the patient’s face. The patients, tongue, and gums are in good condition, the nasals do not have drainage, the tongue, and Uvula are midline and the patient can swallow their secretions. Nasal drainage is present in the nose. The patient’s trachea is midline, they do not, cough drool, or speak in a wet voice. The patient did not have dentures.
Risk Factors
Nosebleeds and headaches on most occasions are a coincidence. However, in this case, the patient might be experiencing both for several reasons. The headaches could be a sign that the patient is experiencing post-concussion syndrome. This is when the symptoms last beyond the expected recovery period after the injury. The nosebleed could be signs of other underlying conditions such as a brain tumor. The patient could also be experiencing nosebleeds due to the aspirin use the headaches. The patient is 50 years old and thus more likely to experience post-concussive symptoms and in this case, these symptoms should be reported to the doctor for further tests.
