Our marketing department has come up with a great new avenue for our organizational consulting company – we will now consult with companies on recruitment videos that depict the individual company’s culture! Recruitment videos are a great way for our clients to share their company’s culture. This could be a great revenue source for us, and you are just the right person to launch this new service. What I will need you to do is draft a memo to each company with an example of a recruitment video that you think will match its culture. We will work with 2 different companies:
Dress4Success: This company is in retail sales and has been selling a high end line of work clothes for over 50 years, and is proud of its long tradition of dressing the business person for success.
Tech-IT: This company is an engineering company that is on the cutting edge of new technology. The company believes it needs to be very competitive with other technology companies in finding employees.
Directions:
For your first post:
Analyze some of the recruitment videos from the links below, and find one example recruitment video for Dress4Success and one example recruitment video for Tech-IT that depict the culture that would best apply to these companies.

Create two memos (at least 300 words each), one directed to Dress4Success and one directed to Tech-IT.
Identify the recruitment video you chose that is an example of their company’s culture by including the link to it.
Discuss the importance of organizational culture, (use the text materials).
In your memo, explain to each company why you would recommend our company create this type of recruitment video for them to use to showcase their company’s culture. (For example, if the client published children’s books, a good example of a recruitment video would be one showing a creative, fun and playful culture. You would choose a more serious culture if the client published books on politics).

Subject: Creating a Recruitment Video
Organizational culture is an important part of any company. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that the employees in any organization have values that align with the organization’s culture. As a tech company, Google’s recruitment video is among the best examples of the kind of recruitment video you should make. It exposes the people to the kind of people they will have as colleagues. Tech is also one of the most demanding niches, and women might sometimes shy away from taking jobs. The video used by Google shows all types of people, including others and parents, and the fact that the company gives its employees the chance to be all-rounded (Lopes, 2006). Despite the company having grown, it still has that small-feel tech company. This video is, therefore, an example of what your recruitment video should look like in order to attract the right people.
Organizational culture is a combination of values, expectations, and practices which guide and inform the team members (Zeyada, 2018). Every company has its unique culture, and different companies’ cultures differ depending on what they do. As an IT company, you need a recruitment video that exposes the people to your values so that when hiring, you will only hire people that agree and align with your values. Organizational culture can be said to be a collection of traits that make the company great. The importance of having a culture is one; it affects all the aspects of the business. This includes punctuality, employee benefits, and contract terms. When the organizational culture is in alignment with the employees’ values, they are likely to be more active, happier, and motivated. Culture attracts talent. People are likely to move to places where they feel appreciated and happy. Having a recruitment video will help attract talent that matters to your organization.
I would advise that you use a video like the one used by Google to display their organizational culture. The culture shown in the video is one where people are creative and allow their space to get creative. They have been provided with facilities to unwind and work more on their creativity, and that is what is required in any tech company. They are also given the platform to be creative and, at the same time, have family lives. The fact that mothers can work comfortably in IT will attract talent aligned with the company’s values.

One of the great qualities of organizational culture is alignment. This means that the objectives of the employees and those of the company are in the same direction. An excellent example of a recruitment video of what yours should look like is that of The Shoe Company. The video of the shoe company talks about its culture and the values required in the company. Among the values in the company are creativity, good customer service, and the people who work there should be outgoing. Fashion is designed in a way that the people working in the fashion industry need to be outgoing and good with people skills. Dress4Sucess also involves fashion, and therefore making a recruitment video like that of The Shoe Company would help attract employees whose values are aligned with the company’s. The organizational culture of the “The Shoe Company” gives their students time to study, which allows them a more comprehensive range of employees, including students who are interested in fashion. This helps the company get some of the best brains before they are done with school.
Organizational culture is important as it is a set of values within which the company runs. If the employees in an organization have values that do not align with those of the organization, then it is likely to fail (Zeyada, 2018). However, creating a recruitment video will prevent such events from happening as the organization will have already showcased their values and will, therefore, attract people with values that align with theirs. Some introverted people like to keep to themselves. Hiring such people in a fashion organization could be a disaster as it requires people to be interactive, creative, and outgoing. The video will therefore attract these types of people. The interactive people who are interested in fashion and love to play around with it in different creative ways.
A good example of a recruitment video for your company would be showcasing fashion, the process involved creating fashionable clothes. Kit would also be important to showcase the ability to grow in the company, and the benefits involved such as a good sense of fashion from all the clothes one gets as an employee, to flexible working hours such that one can study while still working. There are also the chances of meeting and interacting with celebrities as it is the fashion industry, and they are likely to seek fashion advice from the company.
