Service experience reaction paper
This dropbox contains a chapter from the textbook, Remarkable Service. The topic of this chapter is ‘serving food’, and while it is geared towards fine dining, will easily serve to guide you in this assignment. First, read the chapter. Take some notes. As you are reading, let yourself think about a restaurant that you want to visit. Smashburger? Fine. Olive Garden? Okay. Yardbird, Zuma, La Mar? All work. Mignonette? Joe’s To Go? My favorites. Anyway, go and have a great time. Then, use your notes to write a paper on the following (Due December 4th)
This reaction paper should cover all aspects of hospitality and service that were provided by the restaurant, regardless of service style. Ask yourself the following questions, and answer more if they are missing and it will add to your analysis.
-What is the name and address of the restaurant?
-When did you go?
-Was there a greeting? How was it?
-Was there any communication with the restaurant prior to your dining? If so, how was it?
-What were your impressions as you arrived to the restaurant (parking lot, etc.)
-How was the menu communicated? Did it leave you with questions? Were those questions answered? Describe the menu.
-How was the order taken for your party?
-Did the server/cashier/wait staff make eye contact as your party stated your order(s)?
-Were your orders written down, typed into a device, or memorized? Were they ultimately correct?
-How is food delivered to guests at this restaurant? Describe this in as much detail as you can.
-How were the beverages presented and discussed? If your party ordered alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, what were they? Did the server/waitstaff make suggestions, or upsell your order?
-Was there additional service or hospitality at the establishment? Was the table crumbed? Tableside guacamole? Drinks refilled as you ate or wine glasses refilled? -How were those services performed?
-Were there problems that arose on your visit? How were they dealt with?
-Would you heap praise on the food, the chefs, the waitstaff?
The reaction paper should be 1.5 -2 pages long, word processed with 1” margins and 12-point Times New Roman font.

Service Experience Reaction Paper
I visited the Mamey Miami restaurant, and I can say that I enjoyed my stay at the restaurant. The Mamey Miami restaurant is in Coral Gables in the US. What attracted me to the hotel was the cuisines that were served. They served the Caribbean, Polynesian, and Asian cuisines. The diversity of their cuisines attracted me, and each cuisine was prepared perfectly. I made a reservation for the restaurant in January as I was going to be celebrating valentines day in the restaurant. The communication with the restaurant was excellent as the reception picked up my call fast, and the reservation was made.
When we arrived at the restaurant, I knew that this was the place I wanted to be to celebrate a day of love. The ambiance in the restaurant has an island–minded concept, which was what I was looking for on that day. I enjoyed the reception we got after arriving. The staff were polite and very welcoming. Once we settled at our table, our server for the night settled with us. He first brought us the drinks we had ordered, and then he gave us menus. He then proceeded to explain the different cuisines that were on their menu and how they were served. He was clear and concise, which made me love the restaurant further.
The services in the restaurant were quick and effective. Our orders were prepared nicely, and the delivery was fast. The only thing I did not enjoy about the restaurant was that some of their meals were overpriced. I felt that some of the meals I enjoyed that evening were not worth the price. However, I generally enjoyed my experience in the restaurant, and I will definitely go back, especially for their cocktails.
