| A dissociative personality disorder is usually a result of physical or sexual abuse during childhood. It mostly develops after traumatic events (Sar et al., 2017). in the miniseries moon knight, the viewer of the TV show can tell that young Marc developed dissociative personality disorder after he was involved in an accident that led to the death of his younger brother. This death traumatized him even more as his mother blamed him and physically abused him when he refused to come out of his room. The dissociation could have occurred due to the severe trauma he experienced as a child. |

| Impairment in dissociative personality disorder the impairment varies. The patient, in this case, requires extensive treatment due to the severity of his condition. He has made the other person a part of his life and believes he is real. However, he can be treated with a lot of therapy and cure his depression. |
| Treatment Recommendations |
| Psychotherapy- this is also known as talk therapy. Psychotherapy is designed to work on whatever triggers the DID (Ringrose, 2021). The goal is to help fuse the separate personality traits into one consolidated personality that controls the triggers. This method involves family members in the therapy.
Hypnotherapy- hypnotherapy is used together with psychotherapy; clinical hypnosis can be used to access the repressed memories and control the problematic behaviors which accompany DID. The therapy can also help integrate the personalities into one. It can help control the DID (Ringrose, 2021). Adjunctive therapy- dissociative personality disorder results from a person shutting their mind to cope with the trauma they experienced. In this case, adjunctive therapy such as arty or movement therapy could help the patient connect with the part of their mind they shut off. |
