stages of the strategic management process. As an advisor for Sun City Boards, your assignment is to select one of the strategic
management tools described in the reading, explain how it works, and explain why it will be of value to Sun City Boards. The following
steps will help you prepare for your written assignment:
1. Thoroughly read the Environments and Strategic Management module.
2. Carefully consider the tools described in the reading to assist with the Objectives and Analysis step of the strategic managel
process.
3. Select one of the analysis tools to explain to Tom Wilson.

Write a three-paragraph essay describing your chosen tool and why you selected it. Your essay must include three properly
referenced and defined terms from the module reading. For example, if you select SWOT Analysis, you could include the definition
of each letter. Answer and address the following questions:
• What is the purpose of the tool? What conclusions will it help Sun City Boards draw?
• How does the tool work? How does it measure the relevant factors, or how does it derive importance from them?

SMART goals is a tool that will help Tom bring his business back to its feet. The first S stands for being specific. Tom should be specific about what he wants to get out of his business. The goals should be clearly involved and align with the vision and mission of his company. The M stands for measurable goals. The goals sun city sets should include questions such as how much, how many, and ensure they are accomplished. The A stands for achievable. Sun city boards took on too much hence the failure of the organization. They should ensure that their goals are achievable and not too ambitious. The R stands for relevance. The goals they set should align with eth mission and vision of the company. In this case, it is ensuring that people have quality surfboards to ensure they are enjoying their experience. The T stands for time-bound. The goals need a target date (Herreño-Contreras, 2019). In this case, the employees in sun city should have time-bound goals. Such as in 6 months, they will have produced high-end surfboards to satisfy their customers.

SMART goals will help Sun City Boards go back to the drawing board and help the company refocus on the mission and vision. The tool will help the company to make goals that are in line with the mission and vision of the company. It will also keep them on track in terms of time and also help them to stay focused on their products. SMART goals ensure that there is organization and that people are focusing on what matters. The tool will help plan for the things that matter in the company and help all the employees and managers understand what the company requires from them.

The tool does not address issues such as the strengths and weaknesses of the plans. The tool is only focused on the goals of the mission and vision. It does not consider factors such as opportunities that the company could take or could use to get ahead in business. The tool only addresses issues of planning and staying focused on the company goals.
