Trump-Biden Transition

According to the article, President Biden received one of the best gifts an outgoing president can give to an incoming president, a growing economy. However, the author of this article is sceptical about the way president Joe Biden is handling the economy and is worried that he might destroy what was left in his hands. After the crisis and the numerous lockdown that was experienced in America, President Trump presided over the fastest economic recovery. It is worrying that the unemployment rate has gone up by 6.1 percent, with only 266000 jobs added to the predicted 1 million jobs. Jobs have been lost, and the unemployment rate is going up at a high rate.

Different leaders want to present their leading style, and they want to believe that their style works. It is therefore not surprising that Biden did not continue with his predecessors pro-growth pro-worker policies, which seemed to work especially during the pandemic. The new government is putting in place new strategies that they think will work for them, and therefore it is not surprising they ditched the predecessor’s programs and policies. If the other policies were so good, he should have remained in office, and therefore, the new administrators are trying to prove that they can develop policies that will help advance the country.

In my opinion, the new administration needs more time to prove themselves before we decide they have failed. With more time, they can prove that the policies they have in place will boost the economy and will not bring it down. It is still too early to judge their policies and think negatively about them. Change is hard, but change is good, and therefore we should give them more time to prove their credibility and ability to lead the country.
