Lesson learned by Francesca on switching from contract cleaners to in house cleaners.

Initially, Francesca thought it was the right move to shift from the contract cleaners to the in-house cleaners.  At first, the workers were pleased to be involved in the cleaning activities, since they earned better allowances. They hence were very active in doing their cleaning chores, hence an improvement. Nevertheless, with time Francesca started noticing deteriorating levels of commitment by the employees. The state of cleanliness also began to depreciate, meaning that clearly, something was wrong. The in-house cleaners who were initially pleased by the new assignments, which gave them a little more stipends, began to complain and underperform their roles in cleaning and daily tasks. Francesca hence learned that both ways had their pros and cons, hence a need for a comprehensive analysis that would help in coming up with the best solution to the challenge.

Recommendations for Francesca on making the best choice

From the case, there is a need for Francesca to opt for the contract cleaners as opposed to the in-house cleaners.  First, it is clear that the company does not save as much money as earlier thought, meaning that using in house cleaners has minimal positive financial implications. It is also clear that the workers are getting overwhelmed when performing their routine duties and, besides performing the cleaning services. This results in a poor quality of work, in both filed, a factor that could adversely affect the company. Therefore, there is a need for Francesca to recommend for Contract cleaners, who will be issued with strict guidelines on how to undertake their duties to reach the expected outcomes.
