What are the Ethical and Unethical Issues in the Movie Firm?

The Firm bases on a novel by John Grisham address important ethical and unethical issues. Among the unethical activities by Bendini, Lambert, & Locke firm are conspiracy, false statements, securities fraud, blackmail and violation of employee’s privacy. The contributors of these unethical issues and ethical dilemmas in the firm includes personal feelings, improper thoughts, greed for money, power and knowledge and a misinterpretation of self-concept. Violations demonstrated are unlawful with regards to the United States work ethics acts and laws.
When Mitch McDeere played by Tom Cruise accomplishes his academic degree, several firms seek him out for his potential and excellence but he settles for Bendini, Lambert & Locke of Memphis for the money and other benefits. While luring potential employees is not illegal, it draws him closer and closer to compliance with the unlawful crimes that occur in the company. Further violations in the course of Mitch’s work at the firm include drug transactions, murder and embezzlement.
When approached to be a whistleblower against his employers, Mitch further resorted to self-interest by using the opportunity as leverage and keep himself out of prison. Characters like Mitch and other employees and employers have no regard for work ethics even as lawyers bound in conduct by the law. Eventually, when the law in form of FBI eventually come looking for evidence of the many unethical activities of the firm, Mitch has to decide between money and liberty in a pit he had dug so deep that his life was at risk.
