Students discipline goes hand in hand with good classroom management. As an educator one needs to consistently practise good classroom management to reduce student behavioural problems and also needs to understand how social and emotional learning works to influence teacher- students relation hence influencing classroom management.

Educators could use the following tactics to manage the behaviors of their students that might affect their classes. Time management; the teachers need to understand that when the students are disengaged, become indiscipline, therefore each block of time in class no matter how short should be planned. Observing fairness; students must be treated respectfully and equitably otherwise discipline problems can ensue whether they are receiving unfair treatment directly or just a bystander. Setting and keeping high expectations; the educators need to remind the students of the expected behaviour and set for the high expectations for the academics. Helping them achieve the set expectations encourages teamwork and makes them reliable to the teacher hence building trust and respect. Making reasonable class rules; involve students in making simple and clear rules and revisit them regularly to establish the remunerations of rule-breakers. Classroom arrangement and preparation; good arrangement of class furniture eases movement and gives the teacher ease access to the students for supervision and also easy interaction among the students. Controlling the situation by staying calm; as unnatural as it seems, instead of giving in to agitation, staying calm is the best way to handle cases of indiscipline. Trying to handle the situation in an angry state will only pass negative feelings to the students and that will prove lack of control.

Misbehaviour prevention measures vary in how much they focus on the immediate behaviour of the student compared to the patterns of the behaviour.
